ADMISSION CONSIDERATIONS

  • To be admitted to a preschool or kindergarten class a child must have reached the age of that class by August 31 of that school year.

  • To be admitted to a class in grades 1 and above, a child must have successfully completed the previous grade in a State-approved educational program.

  • To be admitted to any class, children must be physically, emotionally, and socially developed to the extent that they are not a danger to themselves or to the health and safety of other children.

  • To be admitted to any class, children must be toilet trained and able to use toilet facilities independently.

  • Exceptions to the above admission requirements may be made by the Principal.

  • Children with special physical, emotional, or learning needs may be admitted, at the discretion of the Principal, if the Principal feels the School is equipped to meet those needs in addition to the needs of other children. However, since the School does not employ behavior specialists or special education teachers, the Principal may determine current school resources are unable to adequately meet the special needs of the child. If this is the case, an effort will be made to help the parents find an appropriate alternative.

OPEN HOUSE

We invite you to see our school environment in action at our annual Open House every January. We would love the chance to show you the incredible classroom and enrichment activities we will be offering to preschool through fourth graders in 2024-2025. Our little school has a big heart, and there is room here for your child to flourish next year.

If you are particularly interested in our kindergarten and first grade programs, please give us a call! We would like to take you on a kindergarten-focused tour during the school day you can feel the excitement and joy in our classrooms yourself. This crucial age range lays the foundation for a strong start in school, and our school excels in helping students transition to the classroom environment in a loving, structured way. Meet our teachers and learn more about our curriculum. We would love to answer all of your questions!

We are adding a fourth grade class in the 2024-2025 school year… and a fifth grade class in 2025-2026!

PRIORITY REGISTRATION

Priority registration will begin on the third Wednesday of January (January 17, 2024) for certain priority groups in the following priority order:

  • Current students who are repeating a grade, as determined by teachers and parents together.

  • Current students enrolling for the next grade level.

  • Siblings of current students.

  • Students from a Barton School family.

  • Students whose parents or guardians are FPC or FPCS Staff.

  • Students from alumni families.

  • Students whose parents or guardians are FPC congregants or whose parents or guardians are actively involved with an FPC program or ministry other than the School (e.g., MOPS).

Steps for Priority Registration:

  • Please fill out the online registration form (elementary and/or preschool) and pay the non-refundable application fee for each child whom you would like to register. Siblings will register at this time as well for half of the application fee.

  • Download the Payment Authorization Form and turn it in with a voided check to the school office.

  • Work with your child’s pediatrician to complete your child’s medically verified immunization records. If your child is a returning student, you do not need to submit a new immunization record unless they are entering kindergarten or their form has been updated. Turn the verified records into the school office. This step must be complete by the first day of attendance.

Priority registration privileges will close on the third Wednesday of February.
